PESHAWAR – The Islamia College University, Peshawar, has released a new code of conduct for other faculty members following the suspension of an assistant professor on charges of harassment.
The administration has requested teachers to avoid romantic or indecent relationships with students.
According to the code of conduct, the teachers are required to discharge their duties with academic and professional boundaries, and all types of unethical and unprofessional activities will be unacceptable.
The administration maintained such events cause a lot of harm to the reputation of the institution, and said the strictest of actions would be taken against the violators of the code of conduct.
It has been done at a time when only the day before, an assistant professor at Islamia College Peshawar was fired from his job on harassment charges by a female student.
Assistant Professor Dismissed
Last week, the assistance professor was terminated from service after an action was taken against him following a formal complaint made by a student against him for alleged harassment.
The inquiry committee of the university had investigated the case in detail. The university syndicate, based on the findings of the investigation, proved the allegations true and terminated the assistant professor from service with immediate effect.
